Regulatory Programs
- Verifies compliance to regulatory and pre-requisite programs by reviewing daily records and monitoring compliance throughout the facility
- Conducts product release and pre-shipment reviews
- Assigns and completes internal audits to verify regulatory compliance, analyzes audit results, and implements corrective and preventive measures
- Maintains the food safety databases and runs reports as required
Food Safety Process Control Systems
- Implements and manages process control systems and preventive actions to ensure the production of food safe products
- Participates and leads the Seek & Destroy and other Food Safety teams
- Participates in plant internal and external audits
- Assists Brand Management with new product creation and /or product revisions from a food safety perspective
- Creates and adjusts new product and case labels
- Reviews and maintains calibration records
- Manages and develops the HACCP Coordinator and food safety technicians
- Verifies sanitation effectiveness and reviews sanitation practices to meet LOF standards
- Performs risk assessments on new products and processes
- Reports food safety findings and results
- Executes food safety projects at the plant level
Food Safety Training
- Conducts new hire and annual GMP, Foreign Material Prevention, and other Food Safety related training
- Creates PowerPoint presentations and training certifications

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIRED: Food Safety
- Implements the use of new tools, processes, software to improve food safety processes
- Drives compliance process, procedure and requirements to ensure audits and compliance checks enhance compliance
- Effectively translates, adapts, and integrates corporate level programs into the plant.
- Understands the vision of corporate food safety goals and translates technical aspects of those goals to the plant
- Identifies risks and failures associated with food safety crisis. Takes action to resolve issues and identify the root causes
- Identifies and effectively communicates to senior management time sensitive findings and information that could impact LOF or its customers
- Knows how to anticipate and solve food safety issues in the plant and develops appropriate mitigation and solutions
- Knows when statistical analysis is called for; knows when findings are significant
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 1-3 years Supervision experience preferred; Meat or Food Manufacturing experience preferred
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related field
Certifications Knowledge/experience with Safe Quality Foods Codes
/Knowledge: HACCP or HARPC certified
Demonstrated and proven knowledge of GMP, MOPs, SOPs and SSOPs
Direct experience performing customer audit standards
Knowledge of Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Organic programs and relevant government regulations is required
Strong computer skills, including IFS, SharePoint, and Microsoft Suite
TRAVEL: Local and/or overnight travel is required 10% of the time
